In 1908 Antonio Capello handcrafted his first pair of shoes. He had to wait until after the war in 1919 to properly launch his shoe business in the town of Monteroni in Puglia. An area famed for shoe artisans, so much so it as called “scarpa pulita” (clean shoe) at the time. The factory is in the same place as it was in the early 20th Century,  and now still in the hands (and feet) of the third generation of the family. Fracap is the sum of their family surname and the Italian word for brother, fratelli. Every pair is still hand made and made to specification, with unwavering quality and finesse.
