The Lot. SC42535 work pant is based on dungarees or 'waist overalls' that Headlight developed from the late 1940s to the 1950s, with a double knee design.

The 8oz indigo striped fabric is produced on a narrow shuttle loom. At first glance, it looks like a simple stripe of indigo and off-white, but in fact, small white areas can be seen in the indigo base and in these areas ikat threads are used, which are a single thread dyed in two colors using the "Kukuri" technique. Dyeing with such fine pitch is very difficult so the Toyo team visited several dyeing studios and used special techniques to reproduce the short-pitch ikat threads.
