“Sagaribana” (90x90cm) is a native summer-flowering plant in Okinawa Japan. Their love of tropical paradise and flowers heavily inspired this one. Barringtonia racemosa can be found in many areas of the Tropic of Cancer in the Pacific. A night blooming, bat pollinated flower opens at dusk and falls by dawn, a Cinderella of sorts. A friend of his loves this flower in Okinawa deeply and they wanted to do it right. Deep research and vintage kimono inspired, we blend the aesthetics of east and west. Gracefully hanging blossoms, deep references handkerchief motifs and bats floating in the center create a harmony. The black night of the bandanna set the perfect scene for you to envelop summer and its blossoming beauty.
