Founded in 1951 as Zanter Department, it developed the first down clothing and sleeping bags for mountain climbing in Japan, conducting joint research with the Japanese Alpine Team "Manaslu" expedition in Nepal. It has since outfitted Japanese explorers for the Antarctic Research Expedition, the skiing expeditions in Everest and the first Japanese people to reach the North Pole and more recently the opposing  South Pole. Using these classic designs and patterns, it has been keeping the people of Japan toasty through colder climes for 70 years and now we finally get to share some of that warmth.
