When Zip Stevenson met Atsusuke Tagaya in 2005, they decided to revive the Stevenson Overall Company. The American company was originally active in Portland in the 1920s but, like many others, fell on bad times during the 1930s.

Today's Stevenson Overall Co. is going back to its roots by using flat-felled seams – a sewing technique popular before 1920 – as a production technique for its jeans. Inspired by a variety of vintage styles and their own vintage collection, and featuring an unconventional sewing technique, the high-value clothing created by Stevenson and Tagaya transports authenticity and a touch of nostalgia while remaining modern and functional.
