Like Union Supply, Oahu Garment was a US military contractor. Using hat patterns adopted by the US Army, the company reproduced hats made of palaka fabric that were provided to Japanese immigrants working on farms.

Oahu Garment was founded in 1924. Located on North King Street, where workwear brands such as Union Supply and Sailor Moku Products were located, the company focused on palaka jackets as well as overalls and denim sailor pants. It is one of the oldest manufacturers in Hawaii, and from the beginning it produced workwear, which could be considered armour to protect plantation workers.
