The rectangular checkered pattern was created by sampling vintage indigo-dyed fabric for kimono, preserving the quality and pattern of the thread, using three colours of warp threads, including indigo kasuri, and one colour of weft thread. The design is based on an American work shirt with double flap pockets from the 1940s and 1950s. The chest flap and pockets are attached with matching patterns, which is rare for a work shirt.
