A high spec version of a military flight jacket classic. 'CWU' stands for Cold Weather Uniform and was introduced in the 1970's as an update to the existing flight jackets. Constructed using high silk count typewriter fabric, this pattern remains like the original, blousy through the body for ease of movement with a neat collar and tapered sleeve, shoulder pocket for pens and such. Also, behind those lovely arched flap pockets either side of the main body, are separate hand warmers, perfect for hunched shuffling.

The warp threads are made from the world's highest quality silk from Brazil's BRATAC company, and the weft threads are made from organic cotton from Turkey, creating a lightweight, high-density typewriter fabric. In order to avoid losing the lustre of the silk, the cotton used is made from compact yarn that has been gas-burned. It has a lustrous, glowing look that is appealing. The one-wash processing adds a wrinkled look to this luxurious fabric, adding a casual touch.
