The story goes that in 1914, as the British military prepared to spend their first Christmas in the trenches of the Western front, Princess Mary had the idea that each and every soldier should receive a gift from the British public. The gift would be a brass commemorative tin containing either tobacco and cigarettes, or a notebook pencil and some chocolate. The pencil was designed to look like a bullet made of brass and sterling silver.
This very practical and fine writing call point pen is based on the original pencil design, and is one to keep for a lifetime with refillable pen cartridges and pencils available. Made in Japan, this piece is compact and can be easily attached to keys or a lanyard.
