Every season a new cloth that beguiles us and this is no different. This majestic fabric is crafted from vintage cotton indigo cloth strips from the Abron and Koulango peoples of the Bondoukou region, Northern Ivory Coast and the northern savanna of Benin Republic. Yuki has collected vintage African fabrics for more than 20 years and the cloths are unhemmed and handspun thread binds together the strips, producing one of the most impressive pieces we've seen in a while. Over time, as with Boro pieces, fraying is expected and all part of the charm and life of the garment.

The shape is one that has existed for a few seasons now, a seemingly simple unlined one with three patch pockets on front, melamine buttons and pointed lapels at top. Set in sleeves and double needle flat felled seam construction add the silent comfort and fit of a tailored piece, whilst the flared facing inside is an homage to vintage pieces of yesteryear. Timeless and stunning.
